"Republicans cannot both be loyal to Donald Trump and loyal to the Constitution,"

Congresswoman Liz Cheney

With the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th 2021 insurrection and assault on the U.S. Capitol about to release its final report and the U.S. Justice Department; District of Columbia; States of Georgia, Florida and New York; Westchester County and the City of New York all investigating a number possible criminal indictments of the former president, Donald Trump continues to obsess over his 2020 presidential election loss while endlessly whining about being a victim.

Trump’s rants of unfounded and unsupported claims of 2020 election fraud, his right to retain classified other presidential records and labeling investigations into himself and his businesses as “witch hunts” do not make these delusions true.

In his recent and possibly most dangerous diatribe, Trump posted on his Social Truth network, “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?  A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.

Trump’s fascist call to “trash” our Constitution and reinstate him as president put into words what his actions have demonstrated; ignorance of and contempt for our nation’s founding document, disregard for his presidential oath and lack of commitment to our democracy … not to mention his lust for power and easily-bruised ego.

Republicans who, for personal or political expediency, have become Trump toadies, refusing to openly condemn the former president for his words and actions and, even worse, sucking up to him, demonstrate cowardness and a callous disregard for our Constitution, our country or their oaths of office.

Together with MAGA and White Nationalist hordes, some attired like 1930s “brown-shirts” waiving US flags and chanting “USA, USA”, they are collectively complicit in the consequences of Trump’s actions and represent a clear and present danger to our Republic.

Congresswoman Cheney was spot-on in her assessment; “We are confronting a domestic threat we have never faced before, and that is a former president who is attempting to unravel the foundations of our constitutional republic.  And he is aided by Republican leaders and elected officials who have made themselves willing hostages to this dangerous and irrational man."
