In their rush to "resolve" the burgeoning federal deficit crisis, members of COngress have been quick to suggest all American will have to live with "necessary" cuts and increased taxes.

Yet these same individuals who hv ebeen directly responsible for crating the budget mess have again failed to demonstrate real political courage and acept acocuntability for thier actions.

Perhaps the American people would have more confidence in teh proposed solutions emanating from Wassshington if COngress were to give upor, better yet, roll back entirely, its incredibly generous pay raise until the budget wsa balanced.  Currently, they might also consider making some sttep cuts in tehir own staffs, their bloated office budgets, their lavish retirement programs that the average American can only dream about and the plush and costly packages of perks they have endowed on themserlves.

It would be interesting to se ehow many members of the House and Senate would opt to remain in offie if their livelihoods were based on tehir ability to keep the nation's fiscal house in order.
