With the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, there is a deafening silence over the Administration’s threats to bomb Syria, an action which can only be defined as an act of war.  However, under our Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war, contrary to the White House’s pronouncements that Congressional approval is not required.

While a stirring and perhaps one of the most eloquent speeches in our recent history, its importance is vastly outweighed when compared to the continued destruction of the balance of powers which was a fundamental tenant to our Constitution which sought to limit and provide checks-and-balances to our nation’s federal government.

Where is Congress … where is the media … and where is the public hue-and-cry demanding that such unconstitutional usurpation of power be immediately halted?
